BLOGGING IS FUN!

Being able to be frank about a subject that you're passionate about and sharing it with your readers is what blogging is all about. Refraining from malicious comments about others will keep bloggers in favor of both the readers and who the article may be about. Some bloggers have made a living out of blogging and have become very successful gossiping about celebrities and entertainment artists. Yet, some of the false accusations that are reported leads to twitter wars and other media driven confrontations. Most bloggers choose to keep their websites free of drama and only discuss their hobbies. Blogging may completely replace newspapers, news radio, and televised news and people will rely on the blog sites for accurate and reliable information. I have learned that blogging can be loads of fun and informative for others to share with their families and friends.

OBAMA EARRINGS FOR LESS!

Who says you have to spend thousands of dollars to be fabulous! A jewelry maker by the name of Erika Pena has literally become a superstar over night. In support of  President Obama, Beyonce wore a pair of earrings made by Pena that only cost...drum roll...$32.00! The earrings are now flying off the shelves and Pena is struggling to keep up with the orders. Beyonce wore very affordable earrings that anyone can enjoy and has also helped to make Erika Pena's jewelry line a success!

Till next time!...SMOOCHES!

THRIFT FINDS ARE FABULOUS!

Going to the mall to shop until you drop once a month is a great workout for some and for others its just a workout for your wallet. The goal is to always look fabulous and there is great way to stay fabulous and not break the bank. Goodwill, Value Village and other thrift stores are great ways to stock up for the winter season for less. Don't get me wrong, last month I went to Macy's to indulge in their One Day sale and was able purchase three pairs of earrings for....wait for it.....$21.86! I also bought 9 sweaters and a plaid shirt from Goodwill for $50 bucks! And I know what you're thinking, the sweaters are not cheap looking. They are thick sweaters and name brands like GAP, Mossimo, and Old Navy. Everything in your closet doesn't have to be from a thrift store. Some accessories, shoes, and purses can be bought at the mall when they are on sale. The goal is to be smart and save money when you can. Don't be afraid to go to your local thrift stores because you can find great deals there! till next time...SMOOCHES!

RECYCLE...REUSE!

Recreating an outfit that you've worn before is exciting, fun, and is a challenge. You must be able to breathe life into the use garment by mixing other pieces with it, styling it with different jewelry, or spice it up with heels and a matching purse. First Lady Michelle Obama is becoming known for reusing dresses and is making it a trend. Michael Kors seems to be one of her favorite designers because the silk magenta dress keeps popping up. Last night she wore the stunning dress for the election with a black crew sweater and accessorized with a pink brooch. In December 2009 the sleeveless  Kors dress showed up at the White House and again in November 2010, with black sweater from last night and a different brooch, while at a ceremony honoring an Army staff sergeant. First Lady Obama has started a trend that is sensible an easy for anyone to duplicate and probably wasn't trying to. For the next four years lets closely watch to see some of the First Lady's favorite dresses be recycled and reused!

Response to Dana Hull's Blogging Between the Lines

Blogging has become more influential and trusted among American society over the past ten years. Although journalism is based on facts and extensive research we rely on rumor mills and gossip sites to inform us on both news and information about celebrities. Incorporating blogging with newspapers may be profitable yet the opinions of others on blogs is misleading and can defy the code of ethics for news. The two entities should be separate and should never rise to the exact same standards as newspapers. Talk about sucking the life out of blogging, geez. Blogging is suppose to be fun, light, with a sarcastic tone that could be interpreted a thousand different ways. Libel law does not quite fit into the world of blogging. Blogging is based on the opinion of the blogger and one should not refrain from the liberty of free speech in fear of saying the wrong thing and being sued. Expressing your opinion can be accomplished in a tasteful way without being malicious. The laws for blogging should be called Malicious Law, ha! Receiving responses is a key component in blogging and a way to track the viewers opinions. Also, it does not matter if a name is given or not when someone blogs. I believe that leaving a name is a way for bloggers to be sued by larger companies.

When blogging there are a few tips that writer Dana Hull gives that should be considered. Politics, religion and any other topics that can cause controversy should be avoided while blogging. Writing about a variety of topics keeps your blog fresh, entertaining, and also keeps readers interested and coming back often. If something was written out of context correcting yourself before someone else does is a great way to keep the integrity of your site. Finally, remember to have fun!
